Blue Dot founder & designer Angela Furlong is, among other
things, a former Head of Design with LA-based Guess? Inc. Her
career has taken her into the design houses of some of the biggest
names in fashion.
After graduating from the world-renowned Otis Parsons School
of Design in Los Angeles, Angela was hired at BIS as a design
assistant to chief executive Gene Ewing. In 1983 she moved across
town to newcomer Guess? Inc., starting out as Georges Marciano's
first Design Assistant. By 1986 she had become the company's
Head of Design.
In 1990 Furlong was hired into Esprit as the Design Director
for the firm's Junior Division. Two years later she was back
at Guess?, this time as Marciano's VP of Design.
By the late 1990's Angela's career had taken her to Lucky
Brand Dungarees, where as Director of Special Projects she was
able to acquire great experience in licensing, sourcing and marketing.
She left Lucky to launch her own lifestyle brand, Blue Dot, in
1999.
